KHAL 98.9FM - 023 - Reef Sheriff
David Marks & the Marksmen - Sheriff Of Noddingham - Sundazed - 2003 - Original member of the world famous Beach Boys, went for world fame with his other band the Marksmen and although probably not the best for financial gain or claim to fame, I know which band I prefer. Recorded and released back in 1963, rereleased in 2003. His full history can be read in the book about him 'the lost Beach Boy: the true story of David Marks one of the founding members of the Beach Boys'.
The Tormentos - Cecilia Ann - Scatter - 2017 - Instrumental surf band from Buenos Aires, Argentina and one of the best from South America if you ask me. Starting their career with a split w. the Phantom Surfers in 2002. This was taken from their latest release to date 'Ejucatan El Macabre Plan'.
The Kanaloas - Boneyard reef - Double Crown - 2015 - Opener from their latest release since 2007, they managed to release a couple of 7"'s but this is from their debut full length 'Surf a Go-Go', excellent surf from Coruna, Spain.
The Madeira - Intruder - Double Crown - 2004 - Founded in 2004 in Indianapolis releasing four full lengths up to date. This song was taken from their only EP 'Ruins' and later reappeared on a compilation of their best work 'Center of the Surf'.
The Wangs - Pedro point - Wild Wild - 2003 - Awesome surf from Paris, France. For 7 years they rode the wild waves and released some killer tunes on two full lengths and some 7"s. This was originally on 'Pour Surfeur Seulement' and a year later on a compilation of their best work called 'In Surf We Trust'.
The Volcanics - Hurricane - Orbitone - 2006 - From their debut CD 'Girls Girls Girls', still a very exciting and active band from California. Last couple of releases are on Double Crown Records.
The Chukukos - La Partida - Sharawaji - 2018 - Surf from Bern, Switzerland this is their best song from their 8 track record 'Deep Latin Surf Attack'.
Reverberati - 77 - Poker - 2012 - Italian surfband from Pisa with only one great record 'Combat Surf'' rereleased in 2014 on Double Crown Records. And guess what the international surf ambassador Lorenzo Valdambri aka Surfer Joe plays drums.
Terreur Twist - Requiem pour un loup - unreleased - 2020 - Brandnew surf from Chalon sur Saone in France. Not much I can tell you have a feeling this will get an official release pretty soon, it sounds promising to say the least.
The Coffin Daggers - Instigator - Cleopatra - 2016 - Surfband from New York who have been around now for over 20 years with a lot of excellent releases to their name, like this one taken from their 'Aggravatin' Rhythms' record.
The Men in Graysuits - Norco - Hi-Tide - 2017 - Taken from their first and to this date only effort on vinyl 'Panic At The Pier'. Great sounding record from these graysuits from Montreal, Canada.
The Fender IV - Everybody up! - Imperial - 1965 - Band was originally from Baltimore a move to California brought them closer to where the actual surf craze was. When surf died down famous record producer Kim Fowley made them change their style and name into 'Sons Of Adam'. In the recent past they have played a couple of reunion shows as the Fender IV!
